COMPANIES PINUNTIRYA si SEN. MARCOLETA

Two construction companies contributed to President Bong Bong Marcos' 2022 election campaign. Jonathan M. Quirante, proprietor of Quirante Construction Corporation, and Rodulfo D. Hilot Jr., proprietor of Rudhil Construction & Enterprises Inc. Despite a clause in the Omnibus Election Code prohibiting candidates for public office from taking donations from organizations that do business with the government, these contributions were made. Following the election, the value of public works contracts given to these contractors increased significantly; in just one year, Quirante Construction's contracts increased by one billion pesos. The Commission on Elections is looking into the allegations, which have been covered by the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) and other outlets.

Hilot Jr., may-ari ng Rudhil Construction & Enterprises Inc. Sa kabila ng isang sugnay sa Omnibus Election Code na nagbabawal sa mga kandidato sa posisyong pampubliko na tumanggap ng mga donasyon mula sa mga organisasyong nakikipagnegosyo sa gobyerno, naibigay pa rin ang mga kontribusyong ito. Kasunod ng eleksyon, tumaas nang malaki ang halaga ng mga kontrata sa mga pampublikong gawain na ibinigay sa mga kontratistang ito; sa loob lamang ng isang taon, tumaas ng isang bilyong piso ang mga kontrata ng Quirante Construction. Iniimbestigahan ng Commission on Elections ang mga paratang, na sinaklaw ng Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) at iba pang mga ahensya.
